Hello! My name is Troy White

This year, I teach Biology, AP Biology, and Marine Biology, and I am also the Facilities Manager. Last year, I taught Human Anatomy. I received my degree in Marine Biology from Jacksonville State University and then obtained my teaching certificate through the Georgia TAP program. Before coming to Capstone, I taught in Cobb County at Wheeler and Kell High Schools—where I also coached men’s soccer—and at Durham Middle School.

I love working with young adults and helping them navigate their lives. My philosophy for school and life is: don’t be afraid to make a mistake or fail. Take accountability and learn from the experience; it will make you a better person in the long run. Just don’t dwell on it. As Ted Lasso said about getting over failures, “You know what the happiest animal on earth is? It’s a goldfish. It’s got a 10-second memory. BE A GOLDFISH.”

When I am not teaching, I enjoy doing anything outdoors: camping, deep-sea fishing, and off-roading. My wife says our family is addicted to Ford Broncos because, between my son, daughter, and me, we have five of them—which consumes much of my life.
